For our graduates

Career counselling for our graduates

Career counselling is a free add-on for all our graduates. We will go through everything you need with you individually — from your CV and LinkedIn through a portfolio project to a confident real-life interview.

Counselling is usually provided by one of our lecturers — most often founder Zdeněk Vais — together with career coach Barbora Bohunská from the Kariéra v klidu brand. You thus combine the perspective of someone who builds teams and hires developers with the know-how of a professional career coach.

What to expect

What career counselling includes

CV, LinkedIn and cover letter

Together we will go through your CV line by line — structure, wording and how to describe projects and skills clearly so that they appeal to both a recruiter and a manager outside IT. We will fine-tune your LinkedIn: headline, “about” section, description of experience and the keywords that help companies find you themselves. And we will advise on your cover letter too — how to tailor it to a specific position and convincingly explain in a few sentences why you are the right fit.

Portfolio project

A portfolio says more about a junior than a certificate. We will review your portfolio project and advise you on how to polish it into something you will proudly attach to your application — from clean code and a well-organised repository through a clear README to deployment. We will also help you choose the right project and present it.

Navigating the IT job market

We will explain how the IT market works here today — what roles exist and how they differ, what companies really expect from juniors, how recruitment works and how to make sense of salary ranges. Together we will target your search where you, as a beginner, have the best chance of success, saving you a lot of time and unnecessary stress.

Mock interview and tough questions

We will run through a realistic interview as a dry run — from the introduction through technical questions to the uncomfortable ones. After the trial round you will get specific feedback and tips on how to handle stress, stay on point and respond with confidence. We cover this point in more detail right below.

The best preparation is practice

A mock interview before the real one

Everyone knows the theory of interviews — but under pressure it is easily forgotten. That is why we run through an interview with you as a dry run, in an atmosphere as close to the real thing as possible. You will practise introducing yourself, answering questions about your experience and defending your portfolio project.

We will not avoid the tricky and uncomfortable questions that many candidates stumble on either. After the practice round we will calmly go through what went well and where to improve — how to structure answers, how to talk about results and how to manage nerves. You then walk into the real interview confident and calm.
